On the Radio

In 1978, the first four-hour broadcast aired. Turning Sight into Sound Radio broadcasts 24 hours a day and is available on the Internet.

How to Hear Us

Turning Sight into Sound Radio broadcasts on a special low-power FM frequency through specially tuned radio receivers. Taping for the Blind provides radios free to qualified clients. Our specially tuned radio receivers broadcast on the sideband of 88.7 FM KUHF radio.

You can also hear us on the Secondary Audio Program (SAP) of KUHT-TV, Channel 8, Houston's PBS station. Through our partnership with Houston Public Television, we've extended our broadcast range to a 33-county area around Houston.
