The TAPING RECORDER - January-February 2008OFF AND RUNNING FOR 2008
As we review our results for 2007, we had some significant plusses and some serious minuses. On the plus side, our Fashion Event with Neiman Marcus and our golf event were smashing successes and went far to save our bacon. On the negative side, our fundraising efforts fell short of the mark, and we ended the year with negative cash flow. Fortunately we had our two events and reserves to cover the shortfall, but the Board has taken immediate steps to correct the deficiencies.On the radio operation side, we had much more downtime due to a faulty production control board than our clients can be expected to allow, and so we have requested significant capital funding to correct this problem, as well as forestall others before they happen with other equipment replacements.
Our point in telling you this is to let you know we have had some problems and are working aggressively to eliminate them and rebuild our reserves. We are convinced that 2008 will be a better year for Taping.

We are sorry to report that Justin Blount, our evening radio engineer, has left Taping's employment. He had an opportunity to make significantly more money in another position, and being a man with a wonderful young family, he went to that opportunity. We wish him the very best from the entire Taping family. Incidentally, Justin has put up a page for Taping on youtube.com. It has our video developed for the golf event and can be found by going to:and searching for "Taping For The Blind" with their search engine. Justin will maintain this page for us as he wants to stay involved as a volunteer, so our sincere thanks and very best wishes.
We are fortunate that our weekend engineer, Brent Burkes, will be able to take the evening engineer's job, so welcome aboard full-time, Brent! Brent and Jim Martinez will split up weekends until we can find someone else to cover that duty.
